Children of the Moon

A werewolf anthology

Edited by C. Bryan Brown

This project is NOW PUBLISHED!

Don’t let the name fool you (cuz it’s likely to change); these bad dogs aren’t cute or cuddly. Try and tickle one of these chins and you’re likely to lose fingers. Howl, baby, howl.

This will be a print and ebook release, available online through Amazon and the Misanthrope Press bookstore.

We’re going to keep the parameters simple and only enforce three story rules upon the submissions.

 1) NO POETRY ABOUT WEREWOLVES. Original prose only; no reprints unless requested by the management.

2) Your story must be about a werewolf. No rats, owls, canaries, etc. We want something about the original moon babies, not sideshow creatures from your urban fantasy novel.

3) Your werewolves must be traditional shapeshifters. By this we mean at least capable of shifting from human (be it male/female/child) to wolf and back again. Whether they do it in the story is up to you, but the capability must be there.

Now we come to the nuts and bolts, which mean the submission guidelines. Please pay close attention to these guides as stories that do not follow them will be rejected unread. The only confirmation you will get from us will be the autoresponder.

 1) Word Count: 3,000-7,500

2) Attachments in one of the following formats: .doc, .docx, or .rtf files ONLY. And we prefer the .doc(s) over .rtf

3) Double spaced, easy to read font, with the preference on Courier

4) Italics for italics.

5) Author name, story title, page number on every page

6) Submissions go to submissions @ misanthropepress . com (no spaces). You will receive an autoresponder confirmation first, then a personal confirmation from an editor within two weeks of submitting. Please query if you followed all guidelines and do not receive a personal confirmation within two weeks of submitting.

7) Subject Line: Wolves Anthology: Your Name/Story Title

8) Be sure to review MP's general guidelines page in addition to this projet summary.

9) Submissions open April 1, 2011 and will close again on May 31, 2011. Initial (shortlist) responses will be sent by the end of June, with final responses by the end of July.

And now for the good stuff, what you’ve been waiting for, which are the Payment & Terms.

 1) First North American Anthology Rights & First Electronic Rights

2) $5.00, paid upon publication

3) Rights revert back to author upon publication

4) Planned publication is late summer/early fall 2011
